We work on client projects as a team, combining the feel of working in a start-up with the resources and support of a globally successful company. In this position you’ll play a leading role in the continued expansion of our global services, focused on winning and delivering projects for our west coast clients. In helping our clients, you will make a difference by being a part of the solution, and you’ll have both the freedom and backing to drive personal and technical success.

You will carve out and have responsibility for delivering in our substantial professional fee-for-service consulting and technology design & development business, on our team covering connected devices in a range of domains: Telecoms & Mobile, Digital Services, Wireless Communications, Professional Radio, as well as our growing Aerospace sector.

This is an entrepreneurial role which requires a passion for disruptive product development and the use of state-of-the-art technology to deliver business impact in a range of markets. Your understanding of such technologies and your desire to succeed in both the technical and commercial domains will enable you to be trusted by clients and internal teams to guide the creation of world-changing technological innovation. Day to Day

As a Director of Software within the Wireless and Digital Services Division (WDS), you will take a leading role in our embedded and connected systems business. You will be responsible for supporting our business development team, developing trusting client relationships, and most crucially, designing and delivering cutting edge technology in a broad variety of areas.

What You Need to Succeed

Core:

  • Experience in low-level embedded and systems software engineering
  • Experience and a track record of technology design and development within the mobile, telecoms, aerospace, or other connected systems sectors
  • Ability to support business development in the connected devices domain working alongside other commercial, project management and technical staff
  • A degree in an appropriate technical domain
  • Ability to personally lead greenfield project developments
  • Knowledge of wireless technology (for example: 2G/3G/4G/5G cellular, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and/or critical communications, custom radio solutions)
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in professional fee-for-service product development
  • Experience of complex, high-value, technical sales and delivery
  • Experience in software development for aerospace applications
  • Experience of taking products or services through the full development lifecycle
