We are a friendly and efficient finance team which supports some of the most talented engineers and scientists in the world, whilst working in a busy and fast-paced environment.

We’re looking for a calm and methodical person to work within our logistics team.  The role is receiving and checking goods-received, in an environment where requirements are typically for a fast turnaround time and working in our Logistics area .  The candidate should be a competent, hard-working and reliable individual.

 

Role description

  • A varied and challenging role to work in our Goods Inwards function
  • Assist with the administration of purchase requisitions and assist with our export activities
  • The Logistics team works closely with the Finance team and the successful candidate will be expected to liaise with and work alongside them on various ad hoc tasks

Specific responsibilities

  • Receive Parcels into the business, book in and communicate with the end user that their good have arrived
  • The conversion of requisitions into purchase orders, according to specified procedures and place with supplier
  • Communicating with end users and vendors via email and telephone.  To include but not limited to, Payment for the purchase orders, follow through with proforma or credit card payment
  • Administration of online purchasing systems, Deltek, E-Req’s
  • Progressing of purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Keeping area sanitised and compliant with Health & Safety Standards
  • Ensure we work to our purchasing procedure which complies with BSI standard and the necessary record keeping
  • Assist in Logistics or Accounts Department when less busy

 

Minimum requirements

ESSENTIAL

  • Previous experience of working within a Purchasing or Logistics environment or similar
  • Good communicator, both written and verbal, with all levels of staff and management and external parties
  • Methodical approach to work
  • Highly attentive to detail
  • Good team working skills

DESIRABLE

  • Computer literacy, presentation and communication skills
  • Experience gained within a specific field e.g.  Logistics / Supply Chain
  • Qualifications: In areas of purchasing or willing to undergo training to gain such qualifications.
