Introduction summary

We are looking for an experienced Technology Strategy Consultant to join us as a Director. Do you have extensive experience of working with C-level clients to sell and deliver strategy consulting projects that combine business and deep tech? Do you have a working knowledge across the latest innovations in the digital domain (such as AI/ML, quantum, autonomous systems and wireless connectivity)? Do you have an established reputation and network of contacts in one or more key sectors (such as aerospace, industrial, defence & security, semiconductor or automotive) for these technologies? If so, join our Technology Strategy Consulting team to deliver world-class consulting services to clients who are leaders in their markets.

 

Role description (including specific responsibilities)

This role is very much a client-facing one, combining the sales and delivery of strategy consulting projects. You will work with the strategy consulting team, the wider commercial team, and multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists to sell and deliver high-impact technology strategy projects:

  • Lead initial discussions with new and existing clients to define technology strategy consulting projects, generate proposals and complete the sales process
  • Contribute to on-going client account development in collaboration with the wider Cambridge Consultants’ commercial team
  • Build and extend your professional profile as a thought leader in one or more specific technologies and/or market sectors and become recognised as a leader in helping organisations with their technology strategies
  • Lead technology strategy consulting projects, directing multidisciplinary teams of consultants and engineers to provide high impact strategic insights for clients across a broad range of sectors and digital technologies
  • Evolve our quantitative and qualitative consulting methods in a culture which is well known for applying analytical rigour to pragmatic problems

Minimum requirements

You will be a senior, commercially-focused professional who has sold and delivered consultancy projects at the interface between technology and the commercial challenges of businesses. You will be a self-starter who rises to the challenge of working across multiple sectors and with an array of technologies to help our clients meet their strategic aims.

 

Essential skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of using your personal network to identify engagements with new clients and work with them through the sales process
  • Significant experience of delivering technical consulting assignments for client stakeholders at CxO level to address their strategic issues relating to digital technologies (such as AI/ML, quantum, autonomous systems and wireless connectivity)
  • Excellent market awareness and experience in at least one of our market focus areas (such as aerospace, industrial, defence & security, semiconductor or automotive), and an excellent understanding of the latest market and technology trends which are opportunities for our clients
  • An excellent degree in an engineering or related scientific discipline; a second business degree such as an MBA is desirable
