Role description

A Class III Medical Devices engineer at Cambridge Consultants will expect to be working on a wide range of projects as part of diverse project teams. You will join the Biology and Biomedical Engineering Group. The group contains a range of levels and specialities, including those with more generalist mindsets who can apply their skills to a diverse set of problems.

As part of a multi-disciplinary global smart implants team, you will make leadership contributions, execute problem solving activities and manage tasks from all stages of the medical product development process. Project work may range from architecture creation to detailed design to supporting verification activities depending on the project and the client needs. You will be expected to deliver implantable and class III design solutions working collaboratively with others to deliver impact for our clients.

As a member of a project team, you will be taking part in developing active implantable device development projects (e.g., neuromodulation implants, stimulation leads and brain interface, wearable and implantable sensors, cardiac implants etc). Your Class III and ISO 10993 experience will help you understand and define requirements and drivers, explore technical and regulatory challenges, and contribute to the definition of technical design solutions which fulfil the implant use case and regulatory requirements. Active implantable devices require collaboration, and you will work closely with a range of experts to produce a final designed product.

Even in your first week at CC, you can expect to start contributing towards a client project. Depending on your specific experience, the roles you are given on projects will vary and you will have the opportunity to request certain responsibilities if they are available and feasible. We support our staff to steer their career development towards their interests and welcome applicants who aspire to technical, project and commercial leadership. Regardless of your level, at CC you would gain access to a wide pool of mentors and peers to guide and support you in this role.
