Introduction

If you’re a technically literate commercial leader in the field of connectivity we have possibly the best job in the world for you.  We’re looking for an entrepreneurial champion to oversee the next stages of development for our Connectivity business area.  This is a senior role drawing on both technical insight and commercial acumen to shape and lead the development and promotion of one of Cambridge Consultants strongest capability areas based on decades of experience in connectivity.

Overview

Cambridge Consultants has a world-class pedigree in connectivity development.  Our work in this area has led to the creation of numerous world-firsts and market-changing technology platforms and businesses.  From the world’s first single-chip Bluetooth IC which was spun out to form Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) (later bought by Qualcomm and Samsung for $3Bn) to the world’s first push-to-talk satellite telephony system for Iridium.  More recently we have developed the world’s most dense cellular network for Ocado to coordinate their fleet of warehouse robots; the world’s largest commercial airborne antenna to provide 5G connectivity from the stratosphere; and provided full broadband connectivity to aircraft for Smartsky Networks.  The capability we have in this area is truly phenomenal.

This role will involve working with senior leaders from across the business to form a team and set the future strategy for our Connectivity Capability.  You will work globally and across all the market sectors in which we operate to identify how our connectivity expertise can help our clients create breakthrough innovations.  You will support our wider business development team in presenting our expertise to clients helping them identify and define appropriate services to offer.

You will be the internal and external face of connectivity technology at Cambridge Consultants.  You will work closely with our marketing team to promote the capability and will most like deliver insightful conference presentations and written thought-leadership marketing.

You will work with our engineering leadership and company-wide team of technologists to foster a community-of-practice, define recruitment needs and champion internally funded research projects.

This is an incredible opportunity for you to take our connectivity business to a new level.  We offer a diverse, fun and challenging work environment where you'll have the backing of senior management to set the strategy and be responsible for the success of this significant business area.
