Role Description

To support the continued growth of Cambridge Consultants Artificial Intelligence capability, we’re looking for a technical lead able to engage with clients, architect solutions and guide our engineering teams to deliver transformational projects. Day-to-day you would be working closely with the AI leadership and a wide range of Cambridge Consultants colleagues including sales, senior technologists, and engineering delivery teams in conjunction with client teams to architect, design and deliver innovation projects centred on artificial intelligence. The role includes diverse responsibilities ranging from supporting external marketing, responding to new client briefs, presenting proposals and technical solutions, and leading the engineering teams to deliver impactful projects.

Specific Requirements

You will be a key member of the global AI leadership team responsible for supporting the growth of our AI business. This will involve:

  • Providing technical leadership to AI engineering teams to deliver high-innovation projects. This will include solution architecture, team leadership, communication of design to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Working as part of a dynamic team to engage with current and new clients to understand their challenges and to develop and present outstanding technical proposals for how we can solve their challenges using AI.
  • To be the point of reference in the company for the state-of-the-art in AI, maintaining awareness of external advances in AI technologies and techniques.
  • Providing guidance on our strategic research activities to evaluate new technologies and their readiness for industrial deployment.
  • Supporting our external marketing activities as a credible thought-leader to promote our capabilities and encourage new client enquiries.


You will likely be an experienced technical lead or engineering professional who has demonstrated impact and ability to successfully plan and deliver advanced technology projects. This will be evidenced by you having many of the following:

  • Passion for advanced technology and good grasp of AI including deep learning
  • Proven ability and track record of success in defining and delivering complex, high-value, innovation projects including AI and related technologies
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical solutions to a variety of audiences
  • An ability to work well with a range of technologists including data scientists, software engineers, electronics engineers, physicists, and designers
  • A STEM degree in an appropriate technical field with second technical or business degree desirable
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
