To strengthen our capabilities, we are seeking a mechanical or mechatronics-focused engineer who thrives on novel, complex design challenges, and who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Role description

As a core member of a multi-disciplinary and international team, you will contribute to a wide variety of projects, developing complex electro-mechanical systems, taking ownership of tasks at all stages of the development process. This will include regular exposure directly to our clients with the opportunity to contribute to business development activities.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Engineering design activities, from early-stage concept development through to detailed design and DFMA
  • Prototype design build and test - making use of our in-house mechanical & electronics workshops, our rapid prototyping facilities, and our suite of well-equipped test laboratories.
  • Autonomously and consistently produce high-quality work in your area of expertise, within agreed budgets and timeframes, working collaboratively with others to deliver impact for our clients.
  • Oversee the work of junior engineers and take on increasing levels of responsibility as your career develops.

You will be well-supported in your role through a strong culture of mentoring and mutual support amongst colleagues. What you can bring 

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (including Mechatronics, Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineer or equivalent)
  • Design engineering industry experience, including some or all of the following: 3D CAD, design analysis, structural analysis, rapid prototyping, laboratory testing technical drawings, design for manufacture, design for assembly.
  • Driven by solving complex engineering problems in a team environment

The following would be advantageous;

  • Leadership of engineering activities, including task leadership or project management
  • Familiarity with working in a regulated environment (e.g. Medical, Aerospace, Automotive)
  • Industry specific experience in one or more medical technology sectors (e.g. surgical, pharma, biotech, life sciences)
  • High-level knowledge of other technical disciplines, such as Systems Engineering, Software or Electronics, Design Assurance,
