We’re looking for a hands-on engineer to architect and guide the implementation of security aspects for the multitude of products and digital services we deliver for our clients.  From authentication to key management, trusted execution to secure boot, via DevSecOps and data protection – if any of these excite you, and you want to develop and build on your current knowledge and expertise in any of these areas then we want to hear from you.

What we can offer

We can offer you a varied job where each project presents different challenges and requires constant upskilling.  We work hard to share knowledge amongst our teams, mentor others and help in the building and development of our colleagues’ skills & expertise.

Current projects encompass such diverse technologies as IoT, AI, machine learning and machine vision, digital twins, digital services and robotics – all of which include aspects of security. Our software team includes expertise from bare metal embedded to cloud services and everything in between.

Some examples of our work include:

We would like you to take responsibility on projects, developing and designing the security architecture for new products and digital services, and actively work with the Head of Digital Security to develop new opportunities and grow our business.  This will include lots of time working alongside our engineers and developers crafting solutions, but also time interacting with clients ensuring we’re building the right things in the right way.  Most of our business is conducted online these days, but we anticipate some travel will be required once the world opens up again.

What you can bring

Ideally you will be degree educated, perhaps with a Masters or even a PhD; with software engineering experience, either cloud related for digital services or embedded, device related for secure devices.

You will also have a background in applying security skills for design of products or services in an area related to one or more of CC's broad markets (e.g. automotive, IoT, agritech, medtech, etc.), with experience of threat modelling and applying information security principles to product development.

Additionally, we would like you to have Enterprise Architecture / Systems Engineering / Technical Authority-role experience, with practical security experience in areas such as:

  • PKI / Key management architectures
  • Authentication systems
  • Trusted execution environments
  • Communications security
  • Data protection / privacy
  • DevSecOps

It would be great if you had the following, but it is not essential:

  • Some team leading experience
  • Able to obtain UK security clearance
  • Some experience with consultancy (e.g. presenting to clients, preparing proposals for work, etc.)
