We are looking for an experienced software developer with skills in designing and implementing efficient real-time systems for signal processing applications to join our team. Our projects span a range of industries and applications including Communications, Sensors and Audio.

What we can offer

You will be part of the Signal Processing Group within the Wireless and Digital Services Division. The group is focused on component delivery of signal processing solutions for exciting and diverse products and services. Examples of projects we have worked on in the past are:

We can provide a huge amount of variety in this role. You may be designing filters for simulation of a system one week, getting hands on with programming for a platform the next, or providing vectors or interpreting results from our hardware test team.

We take pride in being ahead of the technology curve, working with and developing exciting new technology. Our accolades include being an Arm Approved Design partner collaborating to design cutting edge systems with the latest low-power technologies. The platforms on which we develop solutions includes devices from TI, ARM devices, PicoChip, Dialog, Tensilica HIFI, Ambiq, Cirrus Logic, and custom ASICs developed in-house.

The wide history of projects previously undertaken by the group have been implemented using a variety of software technologies. For embedded systems: C, C++, Assembler. For scripting and modelling: Matlab, Python, native Windows/Linux scripting languages. Utilising systems and processes: version control systems, issue tracking, continuous integration, test driven development.

As you continue to grow and develop your career, you will have the opportunity to become a technology leader and contribute to the strategic development of the department and its capabilities.

What you can bring

You will be an experienced software developer who can utilise your previous experience to work within multi-disciplinary teams and provide technical guidance in their subject area. This is a specialist role in signal processing, so experience in digital signal processing or algorithm implementation (particularly on resource-limited systems) is a must.

As an experienced member of the group your role will involve being an integral member of project teams, often taking on a lead role in projects. As well as performing your own work autonomously you will guide work technically working with other engineers. Effective communication skills and being able to describe your work and abstract ideas to audiences both technical and non-technical is an essential asset.

We are a close-knit, inclusive, and collaborative group - you will be supported in developing your skills and career further, and we hope your experience and expertise can be shared with your colleagues to develop them too. We encourage knowledge sharing and mentoring.

A solid understanding of Signal Processing concepts is a must. You will also have extensive programming skills in C or other low-level languages, and experience using scripting languages (such as Python or Matlab) to model and automate systems.

In addition, any experience of the following would be helpful, but is not necessary:

  • Overseeing project teams of engineers
  • Mentoring/developing other members of the team
  • Engaging with sales activities and bidding
