Are you a Mechanical Engineer with industry experience and looking for a new challenge? In our Medical Technology division we solve complex multidisciplinary problems to enable our clients to bring world-changing technology to market. We are seeking a hands-on Design Engineer to join the Integrated Mechanical Systems group, working across a range of healthcare sectors including Lifesciences, Diagnostics, Bioinnovation, Drug Delivery and Surgical.

Role description

Mechanical Engineering forms the backbone of many of our projects in Medical Technology. As part of a multi-disciplinary and sometimes international team, you will make individual contributions to your projects, working alongside colleagues from all disciplines, and take ownership of tasks from all stages of the development process. Project work may range from focused detailed design to first-principle analysis and hands-on prototyping and experimentation. You will be expected to produce consistent work autonomously in your area of expertise and work collaboratively with others to deliver impact for our clients. We support our staff to steer their career development towards their interests and welcome applicants who aspire to technical, project and commercial leadership. 

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (including Biomedical, Mechatronics, Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineer, Mechatronics or equivalent)
  • Design engineering industry experience. For example, but not limited to, CAD, design analysis, structural analysis, rapid prototyping, technical drawings, design for manufacture, design for assembly.
  • Driven by solving complex engineering problems in a team environment

The following are not required, but any experience in these areas would be advantageous:

  • Leadership experience of engineering challenges, including task leadership or project management
  • Familiarity with working in any regulated environment (e.g. Medical, Aerospace. Automotive)
  • Prior consulting experience including interaction with clients
  • High-level knowledge of other disciplines, such as Systems Engineering, Design Assurance, Software or Electronics
