We are looking for enthusiastic engineers with both electronics and RF skills to join our team within the Medical Technology Division.

You will be part of a team of engineers, working on and leading pioneering projects in a range of fields from connected medical equipment to implantable and wearable devices. In doing so, you will make a real difference not only to our business but also to the quality of life of people around the world, whilst learning about cutting-edge technologies and developing your professional skills.

What we can offer

We can provide you with the opportunity to work on a wide variety of designs across the product development lifecycle with a wide range of clients. We have a culture that encourages our team members to take on the level of responsibility that suits them and provide support to learn and develop new skills both technically and professionally.

You will be part of a global, multi-disciplinary team who are undertaking technical challenges in all areas of medical product development, from proof-of-concept to market launch. Every project we work on is different – so each new project presents new challenges.

Being part of the team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Become part of a team of talented engineers with a passion for their disciplines where you can thrive and realise your true potential
  • Be involved in hands on design and development of connected medical equipment including the design of small antennas and RF systems, as well as designing electronics for these systems
  • Lead innovative product development projects requiring creativity, flexibility and a balanced mix of dedication and tenacity
  • Propose, realise, and champion your own technical project in a commercially relevant area that you are passionate about
  • Support sales efforts as a technical contributor, representing the RF design considerations – with the opportunity for occasional travel

What you can bring

You will have a strong academic record in a relevant degree. Strong electronics design skills across a broad range of areas. As well as experience with wireless power transfer systems, including magnetic coil design and measurement techniques.

Experience with the design of small antennas, impedance matching techniques and RF measurements (VNA, SVA and signal generators, radiated measurements).

You will be working with multi-disciplinary teams so excellent communication skills to present to technical and non-technical audiences are important. You will be a motivated engineer who encourages and leads others in innovative projects, understands the value of engineering, and harnesses the ability to explain complicated things simply.

It would also be great if you had any of the below, but it’s not essential:

  • Having worked through the product life cycle of a connected medical device
  • Previous experience of antenna design for wearable and implantable medical devices
  • Experience with EDA tools, such as Altium Designer and SPICE
  • Firmware development skills (C, Python)
  • Experience gained in product development within a regulated domain such safety critical or medical systems (EN 60601-1, FCC, CE marking)
