We are looking for an experienced RF systems designer to join our team.

We are responsible for delivering designs that range from small RF sub-modules through to complete wireless systems. The group works alongside other disciplines to deliver these services to clients. We therefore work closely with a wide range of groups across the company.

Cambridge Consultants has deep expertise in wireless communication technologies, with one of the largest independent wireless development teams in the world. We work across the entire wireless landscape - from high-volume consumer applications such as portable internet-based devices, through to professional high-performance systems such as the air traffic control radios used to govern the US airspace. The markets that we address include telecommunications, healthcare, industrial, satellite, consumer and automotive. This breadth of wireless activity provides tremendous variety to our team.

What you can bring

You will lead the development of innovative wireless systems, from initial definition and design, through to mass production. Other important aspects of your role include RF hardware design and guiding other members of the team.

As an experienced technologist, ideally you will be able to:

  • Take the wider view of the product and application requirements and convert them into effective solutions
  • Provide technical input to client sales meetings, demonstrating Cambridge Consultants' capability and capturing client’s requirements
  • Prepare and generate the technical sections of bids and tenders for both existing and potential clients
  • Be capable of innovating and defining the most suitable system design/architecture to meet a given specification
  • Take the lead role in the detailed design of wireless and RF related hardware

What we can offer

This is an opportunity to work with a range of clients, large and small. Some have existing products and are looking for new technology to enhance it; some have an idea for a completely new product. In each case, you will be helping to shape their future success.

You will be at the front in designing the technology. At Cambridge Consultants you will have a multi-disciplinary technology, engineering and science organisation around you. People brimming with ideas and a hunger to solve problems in a relaxed and professional team environment. We will also help you to keep your skills up to date via our training and development opportunities.
